Client Requirements
To create a modern student accommodation block providing individual en-suite facilities.
The Pace Building at Durham University’s Hatfield College provided 44 student rooms and basement communal areas.
As well as providing much needed living quarters, the project improved on its sustainability and in doing so features new glazing to current regulations and thermal insulation reducing heating energy required.
Scope of Services
ARL were appointed as part of a multi discipline design team working directly for the University where the appointment was for all RIBA work stages 1 to 7.
ARL provided a full traditional design of all the Mechanical and Electrical Building Services as follows:

- General / External / Emergency Lighting
